Really great boots :)

They look great, are extremely well made, and are a perfect fit :). They broke in more quickly than I was expecting too.

I bought these boots after searching the internet for a wide fitting black lace up boot. I prefer boots, as I suffer with OA and boots support my ankles and the laces can be tightened or loosened depending on whether my condition flares up. Trying to get a quality size 13 wide fitting black boot anywhere is a bit like Mission Impossible. After a long search, I eventually discovered Trickers Grassmere - but they were not in stock, so I put my name down & waited. Six months later, they were back in stock, so I made a note to order them once I was back home. When I came to order them, unfortunately they were out of stock again. I placed my name on the waiting list and six months later, when they were back in stock, I ordered them immediately. They are well worth the wait. I wear them with slightly thicker socks and rotate them with other quality shoes, to give the leather time to breathe and recover. When not in use, I put cedar wood trees inside them. The boot uppers are made of a very high quality pebbled grained hide. I have not had to use polish or cream as yet, but a wipe over with a damp cloth, aforementioned cedar shoe trees put inside them and then allowed to dry naturally away from direct heat seems to be the best basic care atm. I remove small stones embedded in the sole tread as well. They have been so comfortable from the start and have not required breaking in at all. Marginally too big perhaps, but better that than too small, but easily sorted with thicker socks. I am 63. I firmly believe that, with appropriate care, these boots will outlive me. My teenage son takes the same size as me………. and already has his eyes on them.
