attracted swallowtail caterpillars

I grew these outside in a modified wine box and they did well. After a few weeks I noticed caterpillars on the tops and identified them as swallowtails. The carrots are a beautiful purple with a bright orange core. They grew slowly but I planted them in Fall and tasked them with growing during the mild Bay Area, CA winter. I'll plant another round soon and I expect they'll be faster.
