I bought this jacket as a gift for my husband who does a lot of biking year-round. He has purchased other similar jackets from other companies and knows what he likes. So I was a little nervous, ordering one for him. However, I couldn’t be more pleased. It does exactly what a biking jacket is supposed to do with being wind resistant in the front, but allowing air to release in the back for cooling. The sleeves are little extra long so that when you are biking, they are just the right length. All in all, it is a perfect fit, and exactly what I was hoping for.

Bike enthusiast gives Thumbs Up

I bought this bike jacket for my husband who is a year around almost biker. He has had many specialty bike jackets and is pretty particular about how they are suppose to fit and perform. I watched cautiously as he put it on and tested the length of the sleeves, checked out pockets and looked for reflective tape. He zipped it up and announced the fit was perfect. It felt like he did nit even have a jacket on. Whew. Then the real test, a bike ride. It was a 50 degree day with a brisk wind. After a few miles he unzipped and a mile or so later took it off. It was too warm. That is another win since I didn’t buy it for warm spring days but cold winter ones. At the end of the ride I asked what he thought of the jacket and got an enthusiastic thumbs up. Thank you so much for all the research and testing you put into designing and creating this jacket.

Even smarter than I expected.

I have several pieces of outerwear from Wintergreen and every time I get one I am pleased that it has all the qualities I’m looking for and even a couple I didn’t see coming. The rear pockets are generous, but still fit relatively flush to the back when empty. There is plenty of elastic to easily allow my hands (with size xl riding gloves) passage without hangup. The front material shocks me with its degree of weatherproofing. I got caught in a snow squall with 30 mile an hour winds and temperatures in the low 20s. The duration of this squall would normally have left me very cold and somewhat wet but all I had on was this Rimfrost jacket and a long sleeve base and I was completely dry. Sure my beard was packed with snow, but that just adds to the drama. The rear material vents easily, and is very elastic. The only criticism I have about that is I would like the weatherproof material to wrap 360° around the cuff for both durability and waterproofing around the wrist. The neck opening is plenty large and doesn’t make me feel like I’m being choked out, but still fits snug and doesn’t interfere with helmet straps or balaclavas. The hardware is all high-quality and the stitching is done well with neatly finished ends. The hand-made qualities and attention to detail really shines on pieces like this, because there isnt a whole lot to look at. At the end of the day, I would absolutely buy this again, and will recommend it to some of my cycling peers for when their gear wears out. thank you Wintergreen for yet another fantastic piece of kit!
