I haven’t worn earrings consistently in years, and I was afraid my holes would go closed. I bought two pair, and it too a bit to get them in, just because my second piercings are weird, but I haven’t had any issues. They did bother me for the first 3-4 days, but now I have to keep checking to be sure they didn’t fall out because I don’t even notice them.
