Hornet Energy - Energy Gels

Clean energy that taste phenomenal. Tried the variety pack and every single flavor is a hit. The honey remains the focus, with a hint of each flavor, nothing overwhelming. Quick energy pre-run or during and easy to digest. This will be a new staple in my Ironman training. Great dudes behind the brand too!

The honey gel itself tastes pretty good, exactly as I would expect it to taste just like honey. The downside was that the way it was packaged was not good as my package arrived COVERED in honey. I had to give all the packs a water bath and individually dry them off to make sure they weren't sticky and I couldn't put them back in the cute boxes they came in since those were honey covered too. One of the individual energy gels I guess wasn't fully sealed as it was leaking with any pressure put on it. The gels are also kinda difficult to rip open, I needed to use my teeth so on a run I could see this as being a bit difficult. I had high hopes for this product and sadly was let down by poor packaging 😔

I am currently training for the Rock Cut Ultra Marathon in Newfoundland. I thought I’d give these gels a go as I like Natural Honey. I’ve had three during a long run and they are no worries on the stomach that’s for sure. Very nice energy boost. Very happy so far…
