Suunto Run All Black

Almost perfect

As my first running watch, this seriously exceeded my expectations. It's not a "plug-and-play" watch, but once you learn to use it it's really nice. With that said, there are a few things that could be better. The best features are: that it's easy to use, and the app is well integrated; it charges SUPER quickly (less than 30 min to 100%), and lasts for about a week on a single charge while using GPS, bluetooth and music. Bluetooth connection is SEAMLESS across different brands and devices. It looks amazing. The haptic feedback from the turning wheel is extremely satisfying. Improvement points (please, SUUNTO, some of these would be easy to address): 1) The running app doesn't have a way to integrate warmups/cooldowns without creating an interval (vs a normal running session) is a major oversight. I'm waiting for Suunto to change that. We don't all run intervals, and if you log it as an interval it changes the overall view on the diary... 2) The media player is really clunky and hard to access while on a run (but it's awesome that you can add your offline music) 3) The silicone strap: I understand that silicone strap loops (the little loop that holds the strap from flapping around) are annoying, but, whoever thought that putting an INWARD-FACING NAIL HEAD as the fastening mechanism should do something else for a living. It makes a dent into my skin even if I don't put it on super tight (and it should be put on super tight if you want good HR measurements). Which brings me to the next point. 4) I knew before buying that the HR monitor sucks. So I use a chest strap anyway. If my purchase depended on the HR monitor, I would not have bought this watch. Overall, I highly recommend this watch. I got this on sale for $179. It was worth it. I needed something simple and basic (and relatively affordable), and I got that and much more. I don't think I'll be outgrowing this watch any time soon, IF they actually change the stupid interval point I mentioned. I googled ad nauseam, and all instructions I found were for the full-fledged SUUNTO app. Please, allow us to create our own workouts WITHOUT intervals.
