I find these nest boxes extremely good for waxbills and the smaller finches. For the shyer species, I drape the nest boxes in brush or artificial plants. They are very easy to clean and are the ideal size. I prefer the smooth plastic of these over wicker or wooden, as mites are less able to congregate
