I ordered this mesh jacket because I needed a hot weather jacket and the Icon upstate flannel jacket i have fit me well. I usually wear a Medium. I'm 5'6" and about 150lbs. I've tried on different makes and styles of mesh jackets and those medium sizes were either too tight or the next size up, Large, were too big. The Icon upstate flannel is a great jacket and I'm comfortable in the 60-75*F range. But I definitely needed another jacket that would keep me protected and cool in 80*F plus weather. It includes the D30 pads for the back, shoulders and elbows. The elbow pads are adjustable by switching the positions in the sleeve liner. The chest pockets are a bit small. I chose gray because it may help slightly by not absorbing as much heat as black would. The gray mesh is slightly darker than the pictures. The shoulder fabric is a slight lighter shade than the pictures. The front double zipper is a nice feature. I can leave the bottom unzipped a bit when riding. I'm unsure of how well the mesh fabric will hold up if, Lord forbid, I ever go down. I don't want to test it, but it feels better to at least have the D30 pads. The mesh didn't seem to be "see through" when wearing it, but you can definitely see through it if you hold it up to sunlight. I can't wait for better weather.
