These are great books have just finished them, loved the end when friends got back together, the were treated badly in prison, but that is what we heard happened in prison.

I finished the first 3 books and purchased another 3 .Im reading orphans of war The first 3 I read in a flash I couldn't put them down .Orphans of war is so sad its very well written it resonates with me as my mum and dad were prisoners of war and they weren't Jewish. I cant believe how anyone can be so cruel. Very sad but a must read .

I was born in the Netherlands in 1936 and grew up during the war in Amersfoort which was (still is I believe) a garrison town. In a way that saved the town since all bases were filled with German soldiers. I lived in Amsterdam in my late teens before migrating to Australia and the story resonated with me very much. I haven’t yet read the other books. I bought these to pass on to my children so they will know what it was like.
