The perfect versatile sling pack
I’ve been hunting for a sling that just works day to day. The Code of Bell X-POD II is it. I loved my Matador On-Grid Hip Pack for years. It’s super light, but it maxes out fast. The X-POD II keeps the small-bag feel and gives you real room to play with.
Organization is on point. Two compartments, with the front one expandable for overflow. Inside the main compartment you get three zip mesh pockets and a key hook. There are quick-access zip pockets on the sides for a cardholder or earbuds, plus a rear hidden pocket for a passport or phone.
It carries great. The self-locking magnetic buckle is fast and secure. Works crossbody or around the waist. The detachable chest strap keeps it from bouncing when you’re biking or walking fast. Traveling? The rear pass-through sleeve lets you tuck the strap away.
The best part is the flexibility. Open up the expandable front and it swallows bulkier stuff like a water bottle. Use the compression straps or attach points to lash down a light jacket so the inside stays clear.
Materials feel legit and a bit greener. The main body uses recycled RE/COR RN66 nylon, and the hybrid colorways pair ECOPAK up front with recycled Cordura on the body. The orange camo lining makes it easy to spot small items. The top grab handle is simple but handy.
If you want a compact sling that stays out of the way but can stretch when needed, this one hits the sweet spot.
