Good Almost Great, Very Stylish. Lots of Potential.
4/5 so far. Initially very tight. I have decent sized hands, but not lunch boxes. I never had an issue using other mitts. I basically undo the velcro all the way and can't tighten it.
Reached out and Glenn was very friendly and informative. That alone has made me a fan. He said it just takes time to break in so I will be patient.
The indented area on the middle of the mitts is not something I'm used to. I thought I wouldn't like it but I actually LOVE it. It "catches" the boxing glove better than flat faced designs I've used in the past. Though I still prefer flat face mitts for MMA training, these mitts are my go to for work with boxing gloves.
The stiffness of the strike face initially was also off putting. I train boxers and MMA fighters. The stiff surface is not something I'd use working with smaller MMA gloves. It just doesn't feel right and I prefer a more forgiving surface for MMA. However, it is phenomenal with boxing gloves especially during long sessions.
The style and look is amazing. Just down right sexy. And that matters to me. Unique color combinations and a design that catches the eye without sacrificing utility.
The last negative is one I'm hoping also resolves. When taking harder hits the other day I noticed that some fluffy material popped out of the mitts and floated around my face for a bit. Thought it was a one off, but it happened again. I'll be reaching out to Glenn. Maybe it is a coincidence and this was just a manufacturer issue? If it gets resolved I'll be back to inform everyone.
I'll eventually make a video review on these mitts. Very interesting company and I look forward to the handwraps and other products they have coming.
Pros:
-Sexy design and colors.
-Recessed strike face catches punches perfectly.
- Stiff strike face takes edge off hard punches while cushion absorbs impact for coach's comfort.
-FANTASTIC customer service.
-Light enough for fast style "Mayweather" work, cushioned enough for power combos.
-Inner ball grip feels great when working fast.
Cons:
-Small hand compartment and short velcro strap.
-Break in period still ongoing.
-Stuffing seems to be breaking out which is concerning.
