Not too bad for the price
I got the 12 inch saddle in pink with the matching headstall/chest collar (horse sized) The description should probably not read "free headstall and chest collar" because you do pay more than if you got the saddle alone but you are paying less than if you bought the head stall and chest collar separately. It should probably say "package deal". I was disappointed in that the pink on the chest collar and bridle does not match the pink on the saddle. The chest collar and head stall are more of a bright pink and the saddle is more of a purple pink. I brought it up to New England Tack And that was not something that they were willing to try to fix. The saddles are made in India. The leather is okay, not terrible. I was a little disappointed to see that they skived The skin off of the opposite side of the leather from the rough out. I don't know what this will do for long-term strength. One of my fenders had a very squishy spot that would have stretched out and caused the stirrups to be different lengths. New England Tack was good about sending a new set of fenders that I can replace. It's not going to be fun replacing the fenders, but I believe I should be able to do it. The horse sized headstall at its smallest is 36 inches from bit to bit, at its largest it is 44 in from bit to bit. We have Arabs and so we are this weird size between pony and horse. I believe these should fit my Arabs. The chest collar is slightly larger than my circle y show collar that fits my Arabs. I was limited to five pictures for this review. The billet strap is cotton webbing with a piece of leather sewn on it. It's also very short. I will probably not be using this and getting a new one that is either leather or nylon. There is no snap on the girth strap of the chest collar. You would have to put that there yourself. The stirrups are a little small and my son who wears a four shoe was a little tight. He is 4'3 and about 81 lbs. My daughter who is 5, about 3 ft 6 and 42 lb has lots of space. Her feet are nowhere near the strips but there is a lot of space for punching more holes in the fenders. I have not gotten this on my horses yet, so I can't say anything about saddle fit. I have not tried to oil it so I don't know what the paint will do long-term with oiling.
