TENS Unit for Labor

So far, so good!

I am a doula, and work as part of a trio. We are such huge believers in TENS that we teach a monthly class to our expecting families on how to use them, and have a whole fleet that we lend out. We needed a new unit, and shipping from the UK (our norm) is really involved, so we thought we would add a Lila and see how she did. She performed beautifully at her first birth, helping with comfort until it was epidural time, then covered an uncomfortable “epidural window” during pushing so the birth parent didn’t need more anesthesia. Our ONLY concern is the USB charging—while a plus for some, the fact that it can’t be functioning while charging is definitely something we will need to factor in for future births…though she did 8hrs perfectly, so fingers crossed!

I ordered this TENS Unit after seeing a review that it helped a mom get through her dream unmedicated birth despite getting induced for preeclampsia. Well, the same thing happened to me! FTM delivered at 37 weeks with no pain meds despite my induction. This TENS unit really helped me achieve my dream birth despite the rocky start. Will be the first thing I pack for my next time!!

I ordered the Lila TENS unit late one night while scrolling, honestly on a whim and not even knowing if it would arrive in time. It ended up being delivered super quickly, and I am so thankful it was. My labor came on fast and furious, and this device carried me through the first four hours of absolutely rip-roaring labor. I labored for six hours total and only took it off once I moved into the tub. It gave me the perfect amount of distraction and support to help me get through labor unmedicated. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is going into labor soon. It was worth every penny.
