Life's A Picnic Hook Roll Pattern

I'm still working on it and the pattern is very pretty, but the instructions say to do a double crochet when clearly it's a single crochet? It drove me insane and made me goodle how to do a herringbone pattern with a double crochet which is not the pattern in the box. I was going to just do that but then I changed my mind and unravelled my work - I'm now doing what the person in the vid does instead of what she says and I love it. But it was annoying.

I found the herringbone stitch difficult, but the video was extremely helpful and I worked it out with its help! The other stitches were fine as I had done similar things before. Making it up was easier than I thought and I soon had my new hook roll in use! Thank you.
