Terrible Mother

(Un) motherly instincts...

Got this a few weeks ago and it’s been keeping me occupied and fascinated since. By far my weirdest pedal, but as such also strangely compelling. It’s a bit difficult to describe, but imagine a mix of dry signal with a randomizer engine switching between four individually controlled delays. This creates rhythmic, stuttering textures and patterns, sometimes following your playing and sometimes seemingly expressing a mind of it’s own. There’s ring-modish sounds, glitchy sequencers, degraded tape, radio-like static and smeared, repeated fragments. It can be very musical, and after a small knob adjustment become wildly unpredictable. Definitely not for everybody, but there’s great fun to be had balancing on the line between strange rhythm generation and chaos. The graphic design is also unique in it’s strange and slightly harsh beauty. Big plus for the extremely smooth buying experience. Very friendly and personal service. Greatly appreciated.

Messed up beauty

The Terrible Mother covers a lot of ground. It can be very glitchy, or turned down into a slower delay that will jump to a new mode sometimes, depending on your playing. It chops up the signal in wonderful ways, hitting beautiful unpredictable, or rhythmic repeats. I mean, it all depends on the settings which open up a whole world to explore. Fantastic stuff again from Ezhi and Aka!

Wonderful Mother

All ezhi & aka pedals are beautiful pieces that can add mystery and majesty to whatever it is your are playing through it. Terrible Mother would be at the top of that list. You don't so much as play it as it creates something with you. I'll uy anything from this creator. Wonderful pedals. Highly recommended if you are of the experimental or noise related mind.
