first bench good, this one frustrating

This is the second workbench I ordered. The first one was the longest size. qr code linked to video instructions, me a handy lady working solo, everything went smoothly. this one had no video link, I couldn't find video anywhere, not in youtube, order info, nothing. my son and I did fine until self threading screws only went halfway in no matter how much elbow grease we gave it. they are 3/4", but the instructions says they are #5 screws, and google says #5 screws are 1/2". so...were we sent the wrong size? now I've got a half finished project all over the floor and I have to run to home depot to get some size 5s. great bench hopefully but not a "10 min assembly" as billed and I'm still not sure we're doing it right.
