Finally
In the past few years, I decided to shift away from backpacks for my air travel personal item. I wanted a bag that was more like a duffel bag, but it needed to have:
- 24L-28L but I can still squeeze it under the airplane seat
- dedicated exterior and interior pockets/organization
- vertical access to main compartment while bag is at my feet (not opening like a suitcase)
- luggage handle opening in order to attach it to my suitcase
- gender neutral styling and coloring
- less than $200
- no shoe compartment (I have learned that I never use it and it takes up valuable space)
I looked through a lot of options that were not quite right for me. This Pakt bag checks all the boxes.

I am in LOVE with my Pakt Bags!
This is my 2nd Pakt bag- my first was purchased for my first international trip flying on Iceland Air to Ireland…..we flew carry on only and I needed the right size backpack to meet their small size/weight restrictions. After CAREFUL research I committed to a claimshell backpack that will last me for all my retirement adventures. I packed a capsule wardrobe for 7 days- 4 of which were in flight or on a train. I did not splurge on the matching underseat duffle until now. The underseat duffle is the nearly perfect- the only thing missing is a pocket for a water bottle but I can make that work. I especially love the way this bag opens in a horsehoe on the top- making it a breeze to fetch travel needs out while in flight without pulling out the whole bag. All the zippers are y2k. the bags made of a very sturdy easy to clean material that proved it could take abuse on my trip to Ireland last year, where it got piled on , tossed in overheads, in all modes of transportation. The duffle will allow me to take a couple extra days if clothing for next years trip. The only thing I need now is to find a packable luggage trolly because at 67 I dont want to put the pack on my back again in airports! Both of these amazing bags have trolly sleeves…now if Pakt would just come up with a trolley my travel needs would be complete!

Roomy
I was worried about enough room but not anymore better than what I had hoped for
