Beautiful shoe, slightly narrow for my wide foot

This is a beautifully made shoe. Great quality and very smooth interior - no seams to rub. I wear a US size 10 and (usually) a European size 41. My foot is a little wide but not really a 10 1/2 in length. The LaBucq 40 was listed as a 10. I ordered the size 40 based on my foot length measurement and it was plenty long. The toe is nice and boxy with plenty of space for me. The 40s were a little tight at the widest point of my foot (base of the toes across). I considered returning for a size 41 but didn't really want an unnecessarily long shoe, so decided to keep the 40. The leather is firm but the shoes did not cause me any blisters even though I wore them for many hours (with only thin socks) and walked a good distance (10,000+ steps) the second time I wore them. I think that the leather will loosen a little over time. The fact that the interior is so smooth is certainly helpful. Sizing has been an issue for me with other brands but interior seams can be a real issue if a shoe is a little tight. No such issue with this shoe.
