Open Waters for the win!
I'm not one to write a review. However, I am genuinely impressed with the company. The open waters stick is a monster. Goes against tradition, and I love it. I've been able to use it length to really reach out distance wise, where other sticks that distance is just not possible. The first fish I landed was a mondo carp. The rod handled the size and power of the fish well. I've been able to fish for upper size bass, 2-5 pound range. The rod handles them beautifully. Next outing with the open water with be for some Idaho steelhead. Trying to swing up a steelhead on a fixed line? Sign me up. Even though the rod is heavy, as it should be at 24'4, it is comfortable for me to fish. And good golly, if you don't mind being questioned or snickered at on the river because your fishing a 24' stick, send it. It's worth it. So simple, powerful, and effective. Great job on the design Wasatch rod company!

Good rod
Used this rod for a short time and bought for an upcoming saltwater fishing trip. Overall great rod. Caught a few small bass with it. Loved the action. The only thing that I dislike is the end cap. It’s plastic vice the normal Wasatch metal ones.
