I recently picked up the Korkers Axis shoes, and although I haven't had them for long, they've already proven to be a great fit for my style of fishing and travel. As a bikepacker and fly fisher, I'm always looking for ways to minimize the amount of gear I carry on long trips. The Axis shoes solve a problem I've struggled with for years. When I'm riding forest service roads, I use the Vibram XS Trek soles, which provide excellent grip and comfort on the bike and around camp. Once I reach the river, I can quickly switch to the felt soles for wet wading. That versatility means one pair of shoes can handle multiple roles, saving valuable space and weight in my setup. What really stands out is the concept itself. The interchangeable sole system is incredibly practical for anglers who travel light and need adaptable gear. The comfort and fit have been superb so far. I pair them with thin Orvis neoprene socks, and the combination feels secure and comfortable both on and off the water. If you're a minimalist fly angler, especially one who combines fishing with bikepacking or other adventure travel, I highly recommend the Korkers Axis. The ability to switch soles depending on conditions is a game-changer, and the comfort makes them easy to wear all day.

LOVE the new Axis shoe! I bought these specifically for use with my kayak but I’ve found so many other times they have become my go to shoe! I’m a tournament kayak angler and I need comfort, performance and versatility in all kinds of weather conditions and because I rely on peddle power in my kayak, the connection between my feet and the peddles is critical to keep me going all day long. The Axis shoe is the answer and I love them! Thanks Korkers!

I guide fly fishing in Western North Carolina and when the season allows, these are my go to footwear. The light weight design saves me untold amounts of fatigue. I spend over 100 days a year in these shoes, have purchased many pairs. That’s not a knock on durability, these will last a recreational angler for years and years. Put it this way, as a guide, I have to replace rods and waders far more often than these shoes.
