Unexpectedly fresh!
I expected this to be heavy and savory-gourmand, but to my surprise it is actually bright and herbal and pleasantly fresh! It makes a beautiful candle that I could enjoy any time of year- but am really enjoying now in early spring! I love that many Simbi fragrance oils take you on a scent journey, and this one does evolve throughout the burn. Later in the burn I pick up the sesame oil but it is complimentary and not overpowering, with the basil still front and center. I love this so much more than I expected to. It’s a great kitchen candle and would fit into a garden collection, upscale gourmand/foodie collection, or even a travel inspired collection! I don’t make cleaning products or soaps but I think this would also be a great hand soap!

Loving it
This FO has been recommended so many times and I was hesitant to purchasing because I thought It would be a strong herbal scent just based off the name. But it’s not, it’s such a beautiful scent that’s unique and high end. It’s beautiful oob and I immediately threw it into wax. I cant wait for it to cure. This scent would be stunning in a room spray or even a perfume as well, it’s that good.

I bought this because I really wanted a STRONG basil leaf scent for a garden collection, and at the time I purchased, I remember seeing a post from the Facebook group about this being a more oil-heavy scent. Despite that, and because of the reviews here and the general caliber of products from Simbi, I bought this one and remember being very confused about this aroma when I blotted it. It was TOTALLY oil-heavy. To the point that I couldn't really smell anything fresh or green about it. BUT... holy moly did that scent stay with me. That heavy sesame oil smell HAUNTED me. And after going back to the bottle again and again to blot it and smell it did I finally realize that the oil smelled so *heavy* to me because it felt like it carried macerated basil leaves. Like that gorgeous green oil had seeped out of chopped basil into rich sesame oil, ready to make a pesto. I've mixed this with chunky salt to put in warmers, and I'm fully in love with it. It somehow smells CLEANER after warming. It loses the heaviness and becomes a rich, spa-fresh scent.
