Not keeps unscrewing
I started using the tumbler today. The instructions says to align the barrel’s nut over the metal guide. Came back at the end of the afternoon and the nut was on the floor, barrel not turning anymore and making a loud noise (slipping on the barrel). I tough it would be tougher then my National Geographic ceahp tumbler :(

Solid unit
This is a really good little tumbler. I have used a Thumbler’s Tumbler in the past, which is also an excellent machine, but I have to say, I prefer this Lortone. The main difference? The lid seal. The Lortone’s lid uses a metal top with a snug rubber gasket beneath. Conversely, the Thumler’s seal is a plastic lid held on by a large o‑ring. Sure, it seals—but that rubber band eventually stretches and wears thin. I feel like the Lortone seal will last forever. It’s a small detail, but when you’re sloshing grit and water around, small details matter. The Lortone is easy to use, solidly built, and runs like a charm. I highly recommend it. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either the Lortone or the Thumbler—they’re both fantastic—but if I had to give one the edge, Lortone wins for that satisfying, leak-resistant lid.
