Wilkinson WV2 Stratocaster Tremolo review.

This is the second WV2 I have bought and fitted. This time I fitted it to my 1980s E series Fender Japan Strat. The original Fender Japanunit was low mass and rendered weak tone tough it worked relatively well mechanically. I replaced it about 15 years ago with a Gotoh unit which was tonally superior but I didn't get on with the arm geometry or the need to wrap the theaded end of the arm with PTFE tape. The Gotoh unit was 2 post function and stayed in tune well. I fitted the Wilkinson unit fairly easily (There were no instructions but hey!) Drilling the post holes to 10mm which was best fit. I disposed of the pressed steel saddles (I ise either Gotoh or Graph Tech saddles for preference & comfort (no sticking out allen screw heads). I appreciate the adjustable tension on the rotation of the arm and it's geometry in use. I also appreciate the push in fit. Good result!

New trem

Changed from a block bridge to a wrap round. Made all the difference to the strat sound. Delivered in 2 days good quality steel easy to fit and keen price. All good. Very pleased.
