An Intake Mainly for Looks
I've been eyeing on this intake as it looks good and has some benefits of the carbon shroud keeping out the heat. The low end torque derived from the stock airbox is still there compared to a previous short ram intake system I had. The instructions were unclear, and it seemed like I read an all-in-one product manual. They just told you to install it loosely and adjust it. The fitment, however, not so good. The ground cable needed some adjustment as it rubbed on the carbon on mine's, and its getting scuffed on the transmission mount and a wiring harness clip on the strut tower. I wasn't sure if I needed to cut out a portion of my fender garnish, but I did anyways, and a part of the carbon shroud rests on top of the radiator support above the left headlight. Plus I'm confused of the air filter outlet. It's way too small compared to the stock airbox outlet. They give you a hose clamp to shrink down the stock air tube. I bought a silicone intake duct to make it look cleaner. Maybe it's meant for the JDM intake tube. For the sound, it sounds great 4k+ RPMs. I have an exhaust system that might be overpowering the intake noise. IATs were the same as the stock box.
