The reel is great, but I was disappointed when I opened the box. the reel was not in its plastic bag nor the handle everything in the box was open and just thrown in. looking at the box the serial numbers did not match the reel. I think when you buy a high dollar reel from a place like Goose Hummock they could take the time and package the reel back in the box the way they are suppose to be. the reel must have been a display model which I was not happy to see.

Of all the other stuff I ordered around Christmas, the reel I ordered from goose hummock shop came the fastest. As for the reel, this is the first Van staal I've ever owned. I'll have to wait a few months before I can really start using. From what I can tell it's exactly constructed and the feel of the reel is what I thought it would be for a fully sealed reel. it's a lot lighter than I expected. It's going to be put to the test this season!
