Old Time St. Louis Baseball T-Shirt

I really love the designs of the shirts but my cardinals one is extremely faded after using it t maybe 3-4 times. Is there any way to prevent this or is this not normal?

Extremely disappointed that I wasn’t able to exchange a small T-shirt when I needed an extra large for my husband. I was told it was my mistake that i ordered a small and they don’t exchange shirts that size because they don’t have places to store them. Instead I was told donate it and offered a measly 20% off coupon to spend more money.
