Truss rod acorn nut

Got an old kay plains special acoustic and was trying to bring it back to a good player. Went to adjust the trussrod and someone had put two small nuts on it which was impossible to adjust. After lots of time removing the two small nuts,I ordered the new brass truss rod which worked perfectly! Thanks!!
