Jelly Star - The World's Smallest Android 13 Smartphone

No distraction phone, but there are issues

The Jelly Star is proving to be what I needed it to be - a fully functioning smartphone that is easy to put down and ignore all day. I chuckle when I see so many people around me glued to their massive phone screens - especially at social places like the pub or restaurant. So thankful I don't need to do that anymore. Couple of things aren't great. The fingerprint unlock never worked. I bought it brand new from Unihertz. I just opted not to use that feature rather than send it back. The screen is basically impossible to see on a sunny day. You have to be in the shade. That plus the tiny font size makes it pretty frustrating to use outside during the day. Don't expect a nice long charge. The battery charges quickly, but despite the phone's size, it drains like it's a big smartphone. The buttons at the bottom to return to previous screen or return to home screen or cycle through open apps, they often just don't work. You press and press, and nothing happens. In a strange way, these problems make things better because it's more reason not to fiddle with the phone. I considered the Tank Mini, and would still like to try it, but the 4-inch screen is probably still too big and distracting. So, Yeah - the Jelly Star is still fun and life-changing in funny ways.

Almost Perfect

I am in love with this phone. Everything about it is perfect, but my only problem is that the Android version is so low I can't use my passkeys without transferring them over to my Google account, which I do NOT want. Supposedly they're releasing 16 for this phone but no one's heard anything for months. I'm hoping that doesn't become vaporware.

Great phone!

In Australia I was using a Samsung Galaxy j5 pro for 7 years right up till the stupid telco change where my phone was to be made redundant. I wasn't happy as most of the phones these days are so large it's ridiculous. Im 70 years old and my wife purchased me the jelly star for my birthday. When I saw it I was like there's no way I'm going to be able to use such a small device. But after a week of use and getting my head around the best way too use this little phone I seriously love it.
