Works, with a few caveats. Design could be improved. The idea is solid but it needs a way of anchoring the portion with shield to the shaft or clip to the stock shield. This would prevent it from moving around so much and slipping out of place. When it does slip, you have to stop working and push the shield back in place. This is particularly true if you use a bump feed trimmer head, the force of hitting the ground to dispense string causes the shield to displace. Overall, this device is a good idea, I may just have to modify it to fit how I personally work. YMMV.

The debris guard installed in minutes. I'm still experimenting with the best positioning, but already the amount of debris flying at me is a fraction of what it was.
