Almost a Masterpiece
First let me clear the air with a small gripe concerning the Excelsior series of cards, which takes some of the polish off an otherwise classy and well designed deck. My only bugbear, is that there are a number of what appears to be printing artefacts on least 5 of the court cards. These artefacts appear as shorts black lines located near the headwear worn by the courts in question, and in the case of Jack it is visible near his spear point. I contacted Kings Wild to bring this to their attention and was informed that unfortunately this slight imperfection was not caught before in went off to the printers. Therefore, it will appear on the first 3 volumes in this series, as they were all sent off to the printer at the time. On a more positive note, I’m really impressed with the concept underlying this deck’s design and the excellent stock chosen for these cards. In my opinion the illustrations used for the court cards are nicely animated, and drawn with original detailing. I also like how the court cards are free to float without the constraints of an interior border. The tuck box itself is both sturdy and feels like it has a slightly embossed surface. I recommend this series for play, as it possesses a very clear presentation and stylish look. I have given this deck only 4 stars due to the minor imperfection previously mentioned. Please don’t think I’m being overly pedantic, but in my case, I use most of my playing card decks for cartomancy and therefore my eye is always drawn firstly towards to aesthetics and personality expressed within the court cards. I plan to revisit this deck series in the future, should they release a vol 4 with corrections.

A view from afar
I would love to open my decks and admire them one by one but until I have at least three to four decks of each is when I will be able enjoy the fruits. once I purchase the additional decks, then I will be able to give a more verifiable review. Thank you.

Great Court Card Design
I like the new court card design and the color combination is great. The only challenge I have with these cards from PRC is the the edges of the cards is so sharp that they “catch” on each other when you try to do a Farro shuffle with a fresh deck. it takes a long time to break the cards in before one can do a Farro shuffle. But these are beautiful cards.
