Slipstream Security Closure; Well made product and great customer orientated company
Very impressed with Diabolical Inc. and the Slipstream Enclosure product. Just purchased and completed install about a week ago on my 2025 Ford Bronco.
But important story to tell prior to purchase. Had many questions mainly about installation. Pretty good with DYI but came off of a project or two requiring so much work that I inquired via email if Slipstream could be installed for me at a local Dealership or auto facility. Owner, Alan Huggett called me the very next day to discuss the product and installation. Alan offered to call local Dealerships for me to inquire about install, followed through and got back to me the next day. While Alan could have had a sale at that time, instead he told me that what the Dealer wanted to charge was just too much in his opinion and encouraged me to watch his video, do the install myself and call him with questions during the process if needed. Although the install process looks somewhat burdensome with all the pieces, nuts and bolts, Alan gave me the confidence to do it on my own instead of just selling me a product and not being concerned that I would have to pay too much for installation. This way of handling a customer is unheard of, shows confidence and dedication to your product/customers and is truly above and beyond expected service. Thank you Alan for your honesty, integrity and for your Military service.
When I ordered, I came about a discount offered not only to military but to anyone working in a Federal, State or even local government which I have never encountered. Being a Prosecutor for a local municipality, I was able to take advantage of this offer and saved enough money to purchase the military grade cover padding for the Slipstream product which I had planned on buying at a later date. A very great incentive and appreciation for government employees.
The product was delivered quickly and very well protected and packaged. I watched Alan's video which goes through install step by step making it a very DYI project. The video is key because I believe the install would be kind of complicated without it. The best thing I did is to get two big tables and lay out all the pieces including the bolts/nuts on the tables before beginning install. This is a step I oftentimes skip but not here because it does make install more efficient and productive.
Installation took me longer than expected but only because this was my first time and like with all projects, you end up encountering issues unique to your situation or vehicle which take a little more time to accomplish correctly. I may have lost during unpacking or was missing in the packet the two screws needed for the back plates but their very easy to obtain on your own.
The end result is a very sturdy, durable and well made product which works as advertised and looks great in my vehicle. Everyone who has seen it is amazed with the quality, look and functionality of the Slipstream product. The product also does not rattle during driving which is important to me. Looking forward to getting warmer weather in Wisconsin so that I can truly try out the product with the top off my Bronco. I'm very satisfied with the Slipstream, especially with its durability and functionality which is well set apart from any other products that I have researched in this area. Very happy I made this purchase!!
My only constructive criticism would be a better video on installing the new turn brackets that replace the lock pins on the rear cover. I just didn't realize how many washers, etc. that I needed to make it function correctly and in figuring that out, I ended up scratching the bottom of the cover a bit underneath both turn brackets by installing them too close to the cover during my trial and error period of getting them to fit correctly. My other thought is that I love the look of the Diabolical logo on the cover pad but was a bit disappointed that the logo was not on the front pad as well as the rear one. The logo is very cool, adds a great finishing touch and I feel would look great being on both front and rear covers. I would also pay a slightly higher price if it came on both covers.
