Regal Hook Vise Head
I tie 150 dozen flies a year, many are smaller patterns on scud, emerger and Klinkhammer hooks that require tying into the hook bend. The hook vise head is absolutely wonderful for tying these types of flies. Since I don’t have to have the barb exposed as a reference point I am able to wrap thread/materials easily because of the curved vise jaw. I have 5-6 dozen midge patterns on my to-do list that require wire ribbing or tube bodies and I am looking forward to using the vice with those flies. Kudos to Regal for this jaw design.

Awesome Update to my Regal Medallion
After 20+ years of use I noticed that my Big Game vise head seemed to not be holding hooks quite as tight as they used to. This was especially the case for smaller dry fly hooks. I decided to splurge on the stainless steel vise head, and I could tell right away that the spring was much harder to compress and would hold hooks better. Its also is rated to hold much smaller hooks than my old jaws. I feel like I've greatly increased the range of flies I can tie effectively. I use the stainless for everything but kept my Big Game jaws for larger saltwater flies should I need it.
