Read the size charts and bought a 10 and 12 because I was in the middle of ended up going with the smaller one as the 12 didn’t look as good (loose areas, etc). The slit seemed a little weird when I first got it. It is so much larger of a slit at the top than I was used to. Still wore it for a wedding and liked it though
