I bought this for my daughter because it's adorable--and did not disappoint in person. HOWEVER, I think one could only put an airplant in this planter because the space for a plant is a small and narrow oval, and you definitely don't want to be putting dirt and water down into the brontosaurus's legs and feet. I was hoping the opening would at least hold a small plastic planter's pot, but no luck! Maybe other animal shapes would be more amenable to a real plant in a pot, but just not the brontosaurus. But we love a good airplant, so it will be fine.
