Great cradle for wood ship models
This foam cradle works very well. As soon as the keel and the bulkheads are in place the cradle will adapt to the girth of the model. I use it from that stage all the way through to the rigging - it holds the model very carefully and it won't damage any of the external parts of the model

Works better than shown.
I have tried various ways to support and steady a model ship but this is the first that actually works. Because of the cut out sections it can securely hold the ship upright, on its side or even upside down when planking the hull. I recommend it to anyone working on a model ship.

Occam's Razor
Cheap, simple and hugely effective.
Foam is solid and durable and holds large and small ship models in a number of positions without putting any strain/load on the model.
Currently holding HMS Vanguard 1787 (1:72) - 105cm long/ 19cm wide hull.
Would recommend.
