Wood Splitting Maul
The good: Well-built and a good medium size/weight. I am very pleased with the build quality. The bad: This only my opinion and use case, but I feel like the handle is too short and I am not particularly tall. The impact on the round is less than it could be because the swing arc is relatively short. Also, for at least the wood I am currently splitting, the blade face is too narrow. The cheeks don't spread until further up the head of the maul. This results in the maul getting stuck rather firmly if the round doesn't split. I really want to like it but I have found myself using two of my older mauls more often. Maybe, if I was splitting different wood, it would be different. It sure looks nice though.

Built for someone under 5’10 or someone that can’t handle a maul
Nice tool for sure. I gave it 3 stars only bc of the size. Would have easily been 5. Built well and has quality components. I’m proud to have bought American.. HOWEVER.. I typically hand split about 3-4 chord a year. I’m over 50 and not a young guy but I’m 6’3 220 lbs and can swing a maul decently. This maul is SHORT.. like for someone with short arms and it’s light . Hence why I titled it for a short person or someone that can’t handle a typical 6-7lb maul. Im not talking about having to be a lumberjack lol.. im saying this is a good tool but not a good size. Warwood.. come out with a maul that has a longer handle and I will buy it tomorrow. You have the longer handles on your website so I don’t know why you can’t offer the same maul but in the 34” handle or whatever it is?
