I am around 130lbs and this kayak is amazing for me! I have now unlocked the ability to be on the water and I’m thrilled. This thing is well made and STURDY!! I can carry and assemble its very easily even though I’m out of shape. I recommended them to our local fire department as well for water rescues! Great gadget to have I’ve been raving about this thing

Happy Paddler

Ordering was easy. Delivery was on schedule. The refurbished Tucktec Jr. 8ft kayak arrived packaged in an oversized cardboard box without packing material. The kayak clearly bounced around in the box during transit. The box was a bit mangled but the kayak itself appeared undamaged. Watched a YouTube video posted by Tucktec to assemble. It took about 20 minutes but in time that will reduce. I registered the kayak the day I received it. 4 days later, I tested the kayak at a nearby lake. Both myself, 5’2” @ 118 lbs and my boyfriend, 5’9”@ 215 lbs took turns paddling in light chop ( it was windy). The freeboard was fine, estimated at about 5” for my boyfriend ( this was one of my concerns). The only time the kayak took on water was when a wave hit it broadside. Nothing major that a sponge couldn’t handle. We were both comfortable with the stability. The open cockpit made it easy to get in and out from a floating dock with plenty of room for a dry bag. The seat was firm and we did not miss having a foot strap. I look forward to traveling with this kayak. At 17 lbs, easy to store in the car and apartment, it is a good investment for paddling on flat water or light chop with little to no current. I appreciate the 90 day return and 3 year warranty. Both were critical to purchasing. I watched many Tucktec videos and read Facebook chats prior to purchasing and appreciate all of the improvements the company has made to the design. Thank you
