A young strong man working for me broke one of my wooden handles on my broad fork. I ordered the metal handles hoping that they would hold up to his enthusiasm. He has used the broad fork since with the metal handles and it is working again like a charm.

As a family, we're kinda heavy handed. We had the wood handles but they were getting smaller and smaller as we refitted them. The steel handles are tough and we like them. I like the feel of the wood handles and they're lighter. I wonder if the steel sleeve could come up further so the pivot point isn't exactly where steel meets wood? Anyway we are very happy with our broadfork and I see years of maintenance free tilling ahead.
