Excellent Light
I have been using Fenix lights for just over ten years now and I own several including lanterns, headlamps, EDC lights, tactical lights, SAR lights, their new rifle light, which is awesome, and others in between such as their keychain lights and miniature lights. I’ve purchased several as gifts. It’s been a long time since I was a professional, and, at that time, we were using sure fire lights. I like Fenix better and I’ve yet to be disappointed with a Fenix purchase. Admittedly, a lot of my purchases aren’t made out of necessity but rather for fun. Fenix is always innovating and I often find myself purchasing lights just because I want the V2 version or the latest and greatest even though I’ve no need for another light, but I do use all of them. I often give away my older ones. I didn’t need the TK28R but bought it anyway because I liked its features. I’ve been using it for camping in the northern New Mexico mountains. It’s great around the campsite because it lights up the entire horizon, but I also use it while driving the forest service roads at night, sometimes by choice and sometimes by circumstance, to assess the trail or to hike around a bit with my dog when we come across interesting features or potential future campsites. I especially like the red light feature, which is very bright, because sometimes I want to preserve my night vision as well as the night vision of others who might be with me, but also because it doesn’t attract insects. The instant turbo feature also comes in handy, especially if I get spooked or if my dog alerts to something. I can carry this light in my pants cargo pocket or back pocket, my jacket’s hand or chest pocket, or I can clip it on my belt or backpack. It’s a larger light, yet not too bulky, and super bright. I am happy with this purchase. Excellent light.
