Mixed Feelings

This is my fourth Innova, I've been a big fan. Smokey Purple is a fantastic color, but a few things caught me off guard. It is much heavier than my others, which are the carbon model. I know the other Innovas are heavier, after looking at the specs I see Smokey Purple is heavier than those as well. It's on me that I didnt check the specs. It doesn't feel as balanced either. My biggest issue is the cap is so hard to get off, much more difficult than my others. Probably related to this is the finish scuffed on the grip before I even had it inked. I'm careful with my pens but I'm concerned about the finish holding up. My husband got one as well, his is scuffed too. We'll keep them, still a great writer and color!

Smoky Purple is beautiful

I really like this pen. The smoky purple pairs well with the gunmetal accents & black nib. The silky matte finish feels sophisticated in the hand. I chose the omniflex nib, which is soft but springy and allows for subtle line width variation. The weight is a bit heavy, especially posted. One feature I really love is the agitator ball in the converter. I’m a shimmer ink fan and it really helps to keep the particles suspended for a nice glittery application.

The pen looks gorgeous, but the cap is a bit hard to use. The click is a bit aggressive, and it takes both hands to pull off or put on. It does post very securely for the same reasons. It does write very well, and the nib is nice and smooth.
