So stoked on Brand X
I’ve placed a couple of orders close together. First, some rad wheels (Toxic Runoff and the Acid Rain wheels), and then in another order Ed Gein Sweeper deck, and the Monty Nolder Bulldog. My customer service inquiry was answered by a real person (more and more rare these days), with enthusiasm and genuine love for the products. The quality of the wheels and decks is amazing, and the old school aesthetics and product design rule. While the popsicle era of my youth is when I started taking skating seriously, as a little kid I first saw the skateboards of the 80’s and very early 90’s. Old school shapes, big wheels, and pool thrashing captured my imagination. The artwork, the colors, and the designs that innovated before it all became a lot more formulaic and heavily marketed is still strong at Brand X. I still love riding the popsicles, and am down with the “shaped” board becoming popular among so many companies now, but I can’t get enough of Brand X’s legitness. I am so beyond stoked to have found this company, and am so happy for the people that run it. It doesn’t take too much poking around the site to see that they’re the real deal. They honor the pioneers of skating and OG rippers, and maintain an artisanal level of craftsmanship and love in what they’re putting out into the world. Get an old school board, get some big wheels with a 103 durometer, throw on the knee pads, and start ripping it up in the bowl at the park. Buy Brand X!

59 mm Toxic Runoff
I’m not used to a 59 mm wheel. I skate 52-54 mm. They are definitely fast. I rode them at the park for a while and I really enjoyed them. I love the bark they make with a slide.
