I think the coated cable is the best solution for slip-tips. It does not slice through strong fish like plain cable does, and keeps tip on when sharked unlike dynema, which causes you to lose the tip and you are done for day. This product makes replacing the cable when it frays easy and inexpensive, righ ton the boat as you re-set for your next drift. You can also set the cable length you want for the tageted fish - big tuna = long cable so shaft can deliver the slip-tip and pull out all the way, preventing bent shafts; wahoo and other pelagics = shorter cables for less cumbersome setups.
