We used the winch a little differently and mounted to a trailer hitch for mounting and unmounting a mobile pump on an off a trailer. Works a treat

Roof top tinny winch

I purchased this winch to replace a cheap Amazon 3000lb winch, which was very noisy and unreliable. The Carbon winch is so much quieter and looks to be better built. I can now load and unload the tinny, in caravan parks, without worrying about the winch noise disturbing others. My only concern is how the control box is mounted to the drum of the winch by hose clamps. I suspect the plastic holding the clamps may fail at some stage. Overall, very happy I spent the extra money for a decent quality winch. Cheers
