Great detail.

Great book — Sub-par shipping

This is the second time I've purchased this book (last time was the 2008 edition). It's a great book—this is the first colour edition I've purchased. However, international shipping is quite expensive (I reside in Canada), and my book arrived in the mailbox curled up into a cylinder (not flat). It took several days to flatten it, using other heavier books as weights. I wish the shipped had marked it with "fragile" or "do not bend" and in a hard-sided box, which would prevent the post office stuffing it into my small mailbox. International customers pay a lot for international shipping, and on top of that, the item price and shipping is subject to our lower Canadian dollar conversion. For this much paid in local currency, I would haver expected better treatment of the item. Other than that, great book!

Quite the body of work!

I'm not new to loving trains and the NYC subway. What is new was finding the videos and now this comprehensive work. My first rides were as a kid in the 50s and 60s--full imprinting and I never have a visit to the City without a subway ride or several. The book has the track maps of course but also the details, and the details of the details. Published for years but this is my first one. Just excellent.
