Read it twice

This book and the others in the series have been responsible for keeping me up way too late on a work night. I got so sad when the series ended that I had to go back and read it again. Daindreth's Outlaw does a good job at developing relationships between characters. I liked the slightly slower pace followed by a dramatic ending.

Sequel with its own story

It is common for a sequel to just try and tell the same story as the first book, and the worst part, to undo all of the development the characters gained in their journey. This is not that kind of sequel. The story continues without any character resets or doing the same thing in a new place. It is a journey story, but the pace is good, and we don't have any of the "boring travel" tropes. The story moves at a good pace, and we get some continued growth for the characters as well as develop the overall story and world a lot more. The end is especially good. I would recommend it to any fantasy book lover.

My husband purchased the first book for me, which was a risk because I'm not usually a fantasy person, but I'm loving this series! The characters, development, plot, and overall flow are excellent.
