Broke within an hour of wearing

I bought 2 for my daughters for Christmas - one H and one M. The M broke within an hour of wearing it at the junction between the chain and the cubic zirconia. My daughter was walking up the stairs and it just fell from her neck. I suspect poor soldering. The clasp on the other necklace doesn't spring back automatically - you have to push it closed but it will hold once you get it into place.
