Awesome Cold Early Morning Jersey
If temps dip into the 30s or low 40s then the El Nino gets the call. At this point at least half of the riders in our weekly 6’ish AM group have one because it keeps you warm and dry without needing a bunch of layers or having loose fitting fabric flapping in the wind. I usually wear a thin long sleeve base layer to help the sweat wick and can ride comfortably for hours. Like all the Eliel tops that I’ve tried it fits a bit tight so I’d recommend sizing up if you’re on the bubble.

Great jersey for cold and foul weather
A perfect jersey for temps i think in the 40s and maybe upper 30s with proper base layer. For when it’s cold and wet or even just when the roads are sloppy and misty and you want to stay drive.
Excellent customer service.

No Double Zipper
The El Nino is a beautiful top but lacking a double zip was the deal breaker for me. I have a fairly short torso by cyclist's standards (but not the general population) and wide shoulders. I squeeze into size small tops due to the zipper length in front almost always being too long (though Eliel jerseys are the best fit I've ever found in 22 years). For outerwear/shells I only buy ones with a double zip so I can pull the bottom zip up to shorten the length avoiding the belly bulge in the riding position. I also prefer venting from the bottom as well as getting to my jersey pockets. Other than that, the El Nino is very nice. Fit's nice and tight. I didn't ride it so can't speak to it's water resistance. Personally, I wish Eliel would give zipper length for tops in their fit/size guide and maybe even offer a short zipper length for each size like they do for bib shorts. That would be incredible for many of us with wide shoulders but shortish torsos.
