Daisy Range Car Diffuser

I had high hopes for the car diffuser, but after having it in my car for over a week I can only JUST smell it. Quite disappointed, as it's very cute to look at, but there's just no smell. I've tried leaving the clear protective lid off, despite the instructions saying to put it back on, it's made no difference, you still can't smell it. :(
