BUY THE HEAT PACK IN WINTER! DO IT!
It may seem strange to give a review to a heat pack, but I need to.
My cacti were shipped from the West coast to the East coast during winter mostly and some when were 16F (-9c). My cacti arrived healthy and toasty from Planet Desert. Another company sent a large box of succulents without a heat pack, my fault I'm sure, and the succulents were frozen solid over a long weekend. They then tried to defrost but the deathly odor was too much for my apartment hall and we needed to pitch the entire box. The company was understanding and sent me replacements when the weather warmed. That story is irrelevant except as a cautionary tale. When it is cold please buy a heat pack and save the blameless plants for all concerned.

Heat pack
5 stars keep my plants like I went and picked them up myself. But l bought 2 and only had one heat pack. I thought I needed 1 for each plant. I think I have 1 coming to me with my next purchase. What do you think? Thank you!
