Designed to fail

This actuator was not designed to be out in the weather. There is no seal around the inner actuator rod. I have had to replace the unit about 5 times due to corrosion inside. I put a cut up plastic bag over the inner rod this time & it lasted about 1 year. The motor is not serviceable because the outer case is part of the main unit. There is no way to re-grease the threads of the rod. I have not found any other linear actuator that would work on my solar tracker so am stuck with this one.

I like them just wish they could be rebuilt after a couple years. Motor the weak part need to have parts available to repair motors.
